Kfir Gavrieli

Kfir Gavrieli is an Israeli entrepreneur and the founder of Tieks, a women’s shoe brand known for its signature foldable ballet flats. Gavrieli was born in Israel in 1981 and grew up in Kibbutz Nachshon in the Judean Hills. He served in the Israeli Defense Forces for three years before attending college in the United States.

Kfir Gavrieli earned a bachelor’s degree in government and economics from Dartmouth College and then made a master’s degree in international relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. After completing his education, he worked for several non-profit organizations, including the American Jewish World Service, where he worked to promote human rights and social justice in developing countries.

He founded Tieks by Gavrieli, a women’s shoe brand that offers high-quality, comfortable, and stylish ballet flats that can be worn all day and easily folded and stored in a purse or bag. The brand quickly gained a loyal following, with celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Meghan Markle being spotted wearing Tieks.

Gavrieli’s commitment to social responsibility is also evident in his business practices. Tieks sources its materials from environmentally responsible suppliers and uses eco-friendly packaging. The company also supports several charitable organizations, including Kiva, a micro-lending platform that provides small loans to entrepreneurs in developing countries.

In addition to his work with Tieks, Kfir Gavrieli is also the founder of the Kav Mashve (Equal Line) organization, which promotes diversity and inclusion in the Israeli workplace. The organization works with companies to create more inclusive hiring practices and provides training and support to help marginalized communities enter the workforce.
