Miki Agrawal and her Impact with TUSHY

One of Miki Agrawal’s biggest contributions has been the implementation of a bidet to toilets in America through her company TUSHY. The entrepreneur has worked throughout her life to find solutions to problems. One example is the creation of a gluten-free pizzeria chain in New York City called WILD. She wanted to create this because of her continuous stomach issues related to certain foods she ate.

In the same way, she created TUSHY after experiencing discomfort from using traditional toilet paper and the negative impact it can have on the environment. Bidets offer an eco-friendly way for people to clean themselves and can be seen as a better option for cleanliness. She recognized the product was way too pricy for a lot of people and sought to create a cheaper option.

Her TUSHY bidet is seen as eco-friendly because it can last for years and eliminates the destruction of thousands of trees that are needed when creating toilet paper. The product is said to only require 1.3 gallons of water per week compared to the traditional American using 55.5 gallons per week. Miki Agrawal also enjoys giving back to the community. One of her biggest contributions was to India, where she partnered with a company called the Samagra House to provide clean community restrooms for families in India.

The partnership has yielded results with the addition of clean latrines for 60,000 families. This also created jobs in the community. Miki Agrawal is Indian and Japanese and saw it as fitting to help out some of her people. TUSHY has been very successful since its launch in the year 2015, with sales up 5X since the start of the pandemic. Miki Agrawal feels good knowing she is making a positive impact in different parts of the world. The entrepreneur is a backer of clean hygiene, education, and sustainability.
